Psalms 27
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
A light is something that makes things visible. Before I accepted Jesus Christ into my life, I was lost. Although I had eyes, I could not see.
Living in darkness, I traveled down many roads that had I been able to see, I would have definitely avoided those roads! Because I was blind, I did not see the warning signs, that read,
My understanding was dark. My thoughts were dark. My talk was dark. My walk was dark as I continued down the familiar path that for years kept me in bondage. I say familiar paths because on my journey, I repeatedly crossed the same road; repeating the same sins over and over before I learned my lesson. People kept telling me that there was a light at the end of the tunnel and I didn't believe it until the day that I met Jesus Christ and accepted Him into my life as Lord and Personal Savior.
Now that I know who I am in Christ, I know that no weapons formed against me shall prosper! I know that I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me! I know that God has given His angels charge of me! I don't have to be afraid of anything or anybody because God said that He would never leave me or forsake me!
In Psalms 91 I learned that if I dwell in the secret place of the most High, that I will abide under the shadow of the almighty. That scripture brings me to 2 Corinthians 5:17 If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are past away, behold all things are become new! The key here is to be in Christ! Abide means to remain, continue or to stay. So I have to stay rooted and grounded in God's love. As I submit to His authority, to His word and to His teachings, I must resist the devil and he has to leave me alone!
Psalm 27:2-3
Though my enemies desire to eat my flesh, they will stumble and fall. Though a host should form a circle around me to entrap me, I shall not be afraid. Though war should rise up against me I will be confident. I will not be afraid but I will stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. For the Egyptians whom I have seen today, I will see them again no more forever for the Lord will fight for me and I will hold my peace! Exodus 14:13.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
